The Marine range of SMF starting batteries are premium Calcium/Calcium technology and feature unique positive plate tissue design which positions the Lion SMF range at the forefront of battery performance and technology.
Patented “Liquid Gas Separators” in the Marine SMF range minimise electrolyte loss meaning there is no need to add water during the life of the battery. The In built ‘Magic Eye’ hydrometer enables visual checking of battery state of charge.
Ideal for Marine starting applications which require higher cranking (CCA’s) within a sealed battery design, plus the added benefit of Dual Terminal configuration across the 24, 27 and 31 range.

Lion Batteries was founded in the late 1930’s as a small battery factory and warehouse on Parramatta Road in Burwood, Sydney. Lion Batteries commenced operations as a battery producer supplying hard rubber cased batteries to the fledgling Australian automotive market. Lion Batteries met with continued success and by the 1960’s was a major supplier and prominent brand within the battery industry. During the 1970’s Lion Batteries took a further major step forward and established a strategic partnership with the Korean based Global & Yuasa battery factory which still remains strong today.
