Eneloop - Combining the Advantages
For the first time in battery-history it has been possible to combine the advantages of rechargeable batteries with the advantages of disposable batteries. This new kind of battery was developed by SANYO, the worldwide leader in rechargeable batteries in 2005, and was launched in the European market in 2006. Since then it has been the most successful new battery ever put on the market.
Traditionally, rechargeable NiMh batteries have a very high self-discharge rate. "Whenever you need them they are empty and need to be recharged", was a common saying associated with rechargeables. The new Sonyo Eneloops changed the game. A fully charged Eneloop battery still has 90% (80% for Eneloop XX) of it's charge after 6 months and 75% after 3 years (1 year for Eneloop XX) of storage!
Eneloops also come pre-charged and are usable out of the box!
Higher Performance
In general eneloop has a higher performance than normal Alkaline batteries or classic rechargeable ones. On average in a digital camera the Eneloop lasts 4.4x longer than the standard Sayo dry-cell battery.
1500 times rechargeable
Saves the environment and your purse.
In contrast to a disposable battery the eneloop can be charged up to 1500 times. This saves the environment and your purse.
Thus one eneloop saves the waste of 1499 disposable batteries.
High Capacity
The standard AA Eneloop cells are 2000mAh and the new Eneloop XX are even higher with 2500mAh.
