The Fusion Lithium batteries are of the new breed of batteries containing Lithium Ion Phosphate instead of Lead. The very obvious difference is the weight saving (about 60% less weight than a comparable led-acid battery) but the Lithium technology also delivers a vastly superior life expectancy (over 10 years design life) and they can be discharged to 100% without damage. The Fusion Lithium batteries have a built-in battery management unit which balances the cells and constantly monitors the battery. Fusion Lithium batteries can be charged with most standard lead-acid chargers and are a direct drop-in replacement for conventional lead-acid batteries.
