How big is the battery?

Battery size is measured in Ah. So your car battery might be 75Ah and depending on how much power your car uses we might recommend a Ctek MS 3.6, MXS 5.0 or MXS 7.0. A motorcycle battery would only be 20Ah and you would need a XS 0.8. 

What use does the battery get?

If you often deeply discharge your batteries - for example in marine and off road applications - you need a larger charger.

How quickly do you need your battery charged?

And if you want more technical detail about Ctek battery chargers here it is. Ctek chargers use a unique 8-step charging process.

• 1. Desulphation

  Detects sulphated batteries. The using a pulsing current and voltage the charger removes sulphate from the lead plates of the battery and restoring capacity.

• 2. Soft Start

  Tests if your battery can accept charge. It won't charge a defective battery.

• 3. Bulk

  Charges with maximum current until approx 80% capacity.

• 4. Absorption

  Between 80% and 100% charges with a declining current to maximize capacity.

• 5. Analyse

  Tests if your battery can hold charge. If it can't it might need to be replaced.

• 6. Recond

  If you choose RECOND step the voltage increases and adds controlled gassing to the process. This mixes the battery acid and returns energy to the battery.

• 7. Float

  Once your battery is fully charged it maintains it at a constant voltage level.

• 8. Pulse maintenance charging

  Ctek chargers will maintain your battery at 95-100% capacity by monitoring the battery and adding a pulse of charge when it needs it.
